Duties / Customs

Depending on your location Taxes, Duties, and customs charges may be applied to your package as it arrives in the country of destination. This amount is not controlled by us, but since we properly declare the package, it may acquire an extra charge along the way. If the package is rejected upon delivery due to accumulated duties and taxes to your destination, you will not be eligible for a refund.

Changes to U.S. import regulations

Effective August 29, 2025, the U.S. $800 de minimis exemption for duty-free imports was eliminated, meaning that most low-value shipments are now subject to import duties, taxes, and formal customs clearance.

While this created new costs and complexities for cross-border shipping, we initially chose to absorb these additional import costs on behalf of our U.S. customers. You will not see extra import fees added to your order. However, increased customs requirements may result in longer processing and delivery times.

We continue to work diligently to minimize the impact of these changes and appreciate your patience and understanding.

Important Update for U.S. Customers — New U.S. Tariffs

New 50% U.S. tariffs on certain Canadian-made products came into effect on August 22, 2026. Unfortunately, some DIY Montreal products are affected by these new tariffs, despite being designed and manufactured in Canada.

I am doing everything I can to minimize the impact on my U.S. customers and will absorb as much of these additional costs as possible. However, these tariffs are significant, and I may need to adjust prices for U.S. customers or, if the costs become unsustainable, temporarily suspend shipping of certain products to the United States.

I truly appreciate my U.S. customers and want to continue serving you whenever I can. I will keep this policy updated as the situation develops.

Thank you for your understanding and for supporting a small Canadian business. ❤️
